if you live in california can you tell me if you like it?
i was born and raised in new jersey, 15 minutes away from new york city. and i think its obvious that people become accustomed to acting a certain way on the east coast then from the north, south or west coast. i know life in california is very different from life in new jersey or so ive heard. i thought i was a city girl but i actually really enjoy nature and open space and fresh air you know that kind of stuff? for goodness sake im stuck in the "arm pit state"!!!!
ive always wanted to go to college in cali since fifth grade haha and ive always prefered warm/hot weather rather than 4 seasons in a year. this summer i am finally going on vacation to cali. i am going to monterey and driving with my fam around the coast. i am a sophomore and i really would like to apply to UC irvine and UCSB and other colleges in cali. i might even want to have a family there (but thats a long way down the road).
my mom said i will be homesick and i wont be able to visit them a lot because airplane tickets are expensive but i think she is just saying that because i am the youngest and doesnt want to lose me.
how do you like cali (if u live there or go there a lot) and do u think a girl from the east coast like me would like it there?
Here is some info to help you:
Cali is the capital of Columbia. There is not place in the US called Cali. The only people I know who call California "cali" are people in California who are ghetto and people in other places who think it’s cool.
- it would be like thinking you were anything like Jersey Shore or Jerseylicious which I know you aren’t.
You can call us SoCal/NorCal, Cal, Calif, or California.
All the UCs are great schools. If you can get into one, you have a lot going for you. Most of the students are the UCI and UCSB are instate students or people from surrounding states. So it might be kind of weird at first but it will be fun learning new things too.
- remember, Coastal California is usually warm (between 60-80) it’s rarely ever hot unlike Florida and New York.
Yes, it will be hard to go back and forth because of the 6 hour flight but it’s not super expensive. For example: a last minute flight on US Airways (for next week) is $226 roundtrip. That is similar to what you would pay for flying to Boston or Miami.
As to weather you would like it or not = girls who go to UCSB and UCI are just normal people. They don’t car about what designer purse, sunglasses or jeans they have. They don’t car about what kind of car they drive. They care about enjoying their experience and having fun. If you can relate to this, you should like it.
